Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right"

"DON'T LOOK!!!"Samuel yells from the kitchen. I assured him that I wasn't looking:) "I am the best non-looker ever" he doesn't think that is funny. "REALLY MOM DO NOT LOOK!!" I assure him in my serious voice "I will not look" IT is easy not to look especially when I know what I should not see I will be seeing in only a few moments. I am smiling though and debating whether I should threaten to look just to rile him up. I know he is making me a picture. It isn't so much the actually picture that gets me mushy up inside. after all I do have a lot, seriously a lot of pictures taped up all over the office walls. This drives my husband slightly nutty. But the mixed up art on the wall reminds me of other moments like this one. These papers will be tossed some day but may I never toss the memories of the giggles and love on their faces as they "surprised me". Samuel finishes his gift. His big chocolate eyes dance with anticipation and one tender little hand slides around my neck as the other hand springs from behind his back, SURPRISE! Of course I ew, ah and yes tear up! This picture is particular lovely. He spelled birthday correctly as well as "my little love" Hey as a homeschool mom seeing your 5 year old accomplish that, well it is worth shedding a few happy tears. He brags to his sister about my reaction, "Morgan, mommy teared up". He is proud that he made mom happy-sad. He doesn't understand the tear thing but he knows it is good. His pride gets the best of him though because he doesn't give me the picture. Oh NO!! "Wait, let me show you" he says keeping a firm grip on what should be my prize. After he reads it to me, carefully describing how he made it and complimenting his color selection stating how pretty the pink and green writing is, then he takes it and hangs it up on the door.

See why there are pictures scotch taped all over my office walls.
